AcuDetox

AcuDetox, also known as ear acupuncture, uses small sterile needles placed at specific points on each ear. This trauma informed support may help with relaxation, emotional balance, nervous system regulation, and recovery support.

It involves the placement of one to five small sterile needles in each ear to support relaxation and the body's natural ability to regulate emotional and physical responses.

Participation is completely voluntary and may be added during an in-person therapy session for a five dollar fee. Signed informed consent is required before initial treatment.

I am licensed as an AcuDetox Specialist (ADS) through the Texas Medical Board. Training was completed through 5NP Texas, a program that teaches the NADA Protocol to support healing from addictions and trauma.

Benefits are subjective and differ from person to person, yet many people report:

AcuDetox is intended as a supportive service and is not a replacement for medical care, mental health treatment, substance use treatment, or emergency support.

Possible risks are usually minor and may include brief discomfort with needle insertion, temporary soreness, slight bleeding, or lightheadedness. Needles can be adjusted or removed at any time.
